What Drives Us
P
Help more people, test more often to make informed decisions about health, wellness and the environment.
M
To enable everyone to manage health and the environment using the power of the camera on their phone.
V
Anyone, anywhere, anytime should be able to run a test and understand the result.
Novarum Approach
Everyone is throwing AI at everything these days - why do Novarum use a traditional machine vision approach?
Simple - whichever market you are in validation is key and you'll need to be sure that your app produces results you can explain, optimise and defend, probably based on relatively small validation datasets. AI is incredibly powerful but hard to validate and needs huge volumes of training data that simply isn't available for most lateral flow customers.
We have over a decade of experience in rapidly developing robust, cross-platform reader solutions (Android, iPhone, and even Web Browser) which can get through IVD / medical device regulatory processes.
Since the beginning we've believed that image processing should be performed on the device to ensure accessibility wherever you are in the world.
Access to good diagnostics is key in resource poor settings and relatively expensive test kits should not risk failing because a connection to a server drops out - so we believe test reading should work without an internet connection.
Increasingly our customers are focussing on the environment and ethics of testing, with innovations like compostable housings or animal free diagnostic reagents so we are acutely aware that large AI models require huge water and energy resources to maintain them, and we want to avoid that.
The People Behind The Innovation
Our team is truly interdisciplinary. We talk your language and understand assays whilst having over a decade of experience in building mobile medical applications.
We engineer your solutions using our experience in machine vision, web and mobile technology.
From C# to Java, Python to Swift, Kotlin to React and C++ to WebAssembly we use the most appropriate technology for your needs.
Our foundations are in the diagnostics industry and from the CEO down we've real world experience of lateral flow development, deployment and the challenges that come with it.
Overseen by Regulatory Experts, everyone at Novarum has a focus on building robust, testable and regulatory compliant software.
