About RARE
What is RARE?
RARE (Rapid Assay Result Ecosystem) is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform provided by Novarum DX Ltd, designed for research and development use in creating and optimising lateral flow assays and reader configurations.
Is RARE a medical device?
No. RARE is not authorised as a medical device and must not be used for any diagnostic or clinical decision-making.
Accounts & Access
How do I get access to RARE?
You must be invited by an Organisation Admin (typically from your company or institution). Admins manage who has access within their Organisation.
Can I use RARE for free?
Novarum may offer free trials or demonstrations, but access may be withdrawn at any time without notice or explanation.
What happens if my subscription expires or is cancelled?
If your account is not renewed, Novarum may delete your data. If the data is retained and you wish to reinstate access, Novarum may charge a fee for the intervening period.
Payments & Pricing
How is RARE priced?
RARE is priced on a per-user, per-month basis. Payments can be made via invoice or by credit/debit card through Stripe.
Are there different pricing tiers?
Yes. Pricing may vary depending on features, data storage, or usage volume. Thresholds and charges are displayed within the platform.
Do I get a refund if there's an issue?
Refunds are only considered if the platform is completely inaccessible to all users at your Organisation for two or more full working days, and the issue is not due to user error or local systems.
Bugs & Support
What if I find a bug?
Please report it using our support channels. While we welcome feedback, we do not guarantee a fix or timeline, and not all reported issues will be classified as bugs.
Can Novarum help me optimise my test results?
Yes, Novarum offers professional services such as result analysis or imaging model development. These services are billed at £120 GBP per hour, unless otherwise agreed.
Data & Privacy
What personal data does RARE collect?
We collect only what is necessary to operate your account, including your name and your email address.
Is my test data considered personal data?
No. Test data (such as assay results) is not personal data, but Novarum staff may access it to assist with support or improve our services.
Who owns the test methods or data I upload?
Test methods created by users remain the property of the Organisation that created them.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We implement technical and organisational safeguards, and only authorised staff have access.

Who is the Data Controller?
Novarum DX Ltd is the Data Controller for personal data processed via RARE.
Is RARE GDPR-compliant?
Yes. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Will my data be transferred internationally?
Possibly. If we process data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Are there restrictions on where I can access RARE from?
Yes. You may not use RARE from any country subject to UK sanctions. You must also warrant that your Organisation is not controlled by any sanctioned entity.
